It is calving season and so far it is going good except for the sleepless nights. I have five calves on the ground, four heifers and one bull calf.
The first calf was born to the oldest cow in the herd and her calf is growing the fastest. I was so happy she had a heifer as she will live on. Her
number is 922 and I hope you will look for her on our beef tour. She is a true matriarch and was a cow that was originally bred and owned by Mrs. Campbell
and the original Gibbet Hill bloodlines.
I have many more calves coming so if you wonder where I am day or night it is probably in Groton. Working with the cattle is demanding and challenging at times
but I enjoy every minute. Although I may tell you that I own that herd of Black Angus; in truth they own me.
I have attached the flyer to the open house at the cattle farm and I hope to see you there so I can show you the entire herd and their four legged babies.
Happy Spring!
